Christopher Mitchell

Mitchell received a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Computer Engineering from New Mexico State University.  Based out of Colorado Springs since 1997, he is an Electrical Engineering Contractor supporting various technology companies on primarily aerospace projects.   As a longtime resident of Colorado Springs,  Mitchell ran for Colorado's 5th Congressional District (CD5) in 2022 and Mayor of Colorado Springs in 2023.  He is a Patriot, Constitutional Conservative, transformational leader, and rugged individualist. 

With the announcement of the retirement of Representative Doug Lamborn from serving CD5,  Mitchell, as a member of the American Constitution Party, has officially announced his candidacy for CD5 in 2024.  With Republicans and  Democrats continually failing to demonstrate leadership in Congress, the residents of CD5 deserve a fresh and objective approach to  Constitutional Representation.  On January 20th, 1981, in his Inaugural Address,  President Ronald Reagan stated,  “In this present crisis, Government is not the solution to our problem; Government is the problem.”

At the Republican National Convention, July 17, 1980,  Ronald Reagan said, "We know only too  well that war comes not when the forces of freedom are strong, but when  they are weak. It is then that tyrants are tempted."

On this current day in the history of this Most Excellent Republic, Mitchell says to future generations, “Government is not only the problem; Government has been progressively co-opted by Extreme Left and Marxist elements as a vehicle of oppression and tyranny against the American Citizens.  In 2024, We the People, the Citizens of this Republic, must speak in one voice to decisively drive out the oppressors and reinstate a Republic of Individual Freedom and the Right of Self Determination for the Citizens, both young and old, as enshrined in the Constitution of United States, while promoting accountability at all levels in Government for present and future generations of Americans.  We must stand together to realign National priorities to more traditional and proven  Peace Through Strength, America First  policies such as U.S. Energy Independence (Dominance), U.S. Economic Strength, Sealed U.S. Sovereign Borders,  Fiscal Responsibility, and Superior Military Modalities arrayed against Communist China, Russia, and Iran on the world stage."    

 What are the roles and responsibilities of the U.S. House of Representatives? The House of Representatives has two main duties: making laws and scrutinizing the work of the Government.  

Principles of Campaign:

3.  U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights (Founding Fathers' Original Intent)

4.  National Sovereignty

5.  Sanctity of Life (From Conception  to Natural Death)

6.  Parents Bill of Rights Act

7.  Freedom from Government Overreach and Institutional Intimidation against American Citizens

8.  Fiscal Responsibility and Accountability in Government

9.  Empowerment of individuals, minimization of Government regulation, and promotion of  National Patriotism

 Legislative Goals for 2025 - 2026:

1.  Drive and introduce legislation to the House floor to defund and eliminate wasteful Government Departments (e.g. U.S. Department of Education) and non-profitable, Government-subsidized organizations and programs (e.g. Amtrak,  Obamacare, and Green Energy initiatives). That is, introduce legislation focused on promoting Federalism in a framework and pattern of fiscal responsibility with accountability for the Republic, identifying and eliminating Socialist and Marxist programs (i.e. distortions to Federalism) initiated by the Obama and Biden Administrations. 

2.  Adequately funding the Department of  Defense (DoD) to address the geopolitical threats of Communist China, Russia, and Iran. Mandate immediate termination of all DEI/WOKE policies in the DoD ranks and the  supporting Military Industrial Complex (MIC).

3.  Adequately funding the  Department of Homeland Security to protect U.S. Sovereign Borders by repelling the illegal immigrant invasion and destroying  Mexican cartels and human trafficking operations.

4.  Drive and introduce legislation to fortify and secure U.S. Sovereign Borders, while concurrently,  defunding sanctuary cities and deporting all illegal  immigrants, without exception.

5.  Drive and introduce legislation to the House floor to outlaw the participation of illegal immigrants, non-citizens, in government functions (e.g. voting) at any level, and to strip tax-exempt status from non-profit organizations that aid and abet the illegal immigrants.

6.  Drive legislation to extend the Trump-era tax cuts.

7.  Drive legislation  for "No Tax on Tips"  and "No Tax on Social Security Benefits."

8.  Pass Reciprocal Trade Act.

9.  Work closely with the Trump Administration to completely dismantle the Biden-Kamala policy of Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) which causes urban blight.

10.  To focus on Fiscal Responsibility, I will vote for the Trump-Vance Administration initiative to terminate all Green New Scam funding, and concurrently, enhancing the production of natural gas, and its derivatives such as Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).  Making  America "Energy Dominant", I will vote for the policies for pragmatic turn-key and emerging energy production, including micro-nuclear.  I envision Colorado being a pioneer in micro-nuclear.

11.  Drive and introduce legislation to the House floor to effectively limit, and in some cases eliminate, the capacity of U.S. businesses and U.S. universities to transfer U.S. technology and business capital to Communist China.

12.  Drive and introduce legislation to the House floor to eliminate the purchase of U.S. land and Real Estate assets by Communist China.

13.  Drive and introduce legislation to the House floor to ban the import and sale of products in the U.S. manufactured using slave labor, concentrating on products manufactured in Communist China.
